Model Versions, Release Notes & Corrections

Track the Coast FIRE model, calculation conventions, published audit cases and website corrections from Retire Growth.

Last updated: 2026-10-27

Current calculation model: 1.0.0

Released October 27, 2026. The original “model v1” label and 1.0.0 refer to the same numerical model. Adding the full version label does not change its formulas or outputs.

  • Effective annual nominal returns; exact ratio-based inflation adjustment.
  • Month-end contributions held constant in today's purchasing power.
  • First qualifying Coast month, with a separate continued-saving comparison path.
  • Target sizing from spending and initial withdrawal-rate assumption.
  • No taxes, fees, benefits, return sequences or withdrawal-success simulation.

October 27, 2026: analytics and machine-readable sources

Numerical model unchanged. Analytics settings now refresh the root page data after an administrator saves them. Public HTML cache keys include the embed settings, and Google tag initialization works after client-side navigation. Initialization is deduplicated; private account/admin routes are excluded. Page locations and referrers remove query strings and fragments before being supplied to Google Analytics.

The privacy notice now describes the configured GA4 integration. Organization, website, article and calculator structured data share consistent entity identifiers. llms-full.txt now includes the published methodology, audit, version history and guides, with canonical source URLs. IndexNow verifies the live ownership file before submitting the sitemap. Submission acceptance does not establish search indexing or AI citation.

October 27, 2026: audit and site corrections

Numerical model unchanged. Published a separate 70-digit decimal reference implementation with five scenarios and a dated external-tool observation record. Three products yielded measured values; Boldin and NerdWallet were not numerically compared because their interactive pages blocked access.

Corrected the website's information structure:

  • The homepage is now a hub for calculators, recent guides and methodology. The full Coast FIRE tool, explanation, worked example and FAQ remain at /coast-fire-calculator.
  • Full FIRE, Barista FIRE and Lean FIRE are marked “Coming soon” and have no links to unpublished tools.
  • Removed the broad query-string exclusion from robots.txt. Parameterized visits canonicalize to their clean page URL. Existing scenario links already use URL fragments; those values do not reach the server.
  • Added separate home and calculator Open Graph/Twitter images.
  • Published this version and correction history. These changes do not constitute independent financial review.

October 27, 2026: initial release

Launched the Coast FIRE calculator, editable assumptions, exact monthly milestone, interactive projections, annual table, share links, CSV and print support. Published four supporting guides and the model's formulas and limitations. Public creator and operator attribution uses Retire Growth.

Confirmed numerical corrections

None recorded as of October 27, 2026. This means no confirmed numerical correction has been entered in this log; it is not a guarantee that the model is error-free. The site corrections above are not presented as financial-model fixes.

How changes are recorded

A numerical correction will identify the affected version, triggering inputs, previous and corrected behavior, and its verification. Material convention changes receive a new model version. Copy, navigation and visual changes are recorded separately so readers can see whether an old result needs recalculation.

To report an issue, email support@retiregrowth.com with reproducible inputs and expected/observed results. Do not send credentials or financial account identifiers. No independent professional financial review or certification is claimed.
